CPAs fulfill numerous roles. Serving in the capacity of expert is one role in which our profession has made its mark. And while there are numerous opportunities for that role, there is at least as much (if not more) market demand for CPAs to serve in an advisory capacity.
As an advisor, the emphasis shifts from the “what was or what is” to the “what if” perspective. It is the difference between interpreting the facts and past events as an authority versus making intelligent, educated guesses as an advisor.
Use these workshops to learn how to identify when your client needs to lean on you as a sounding board and/or a collaborative problem-solver rather than using you for authoritative, expert answers.
These workshops bring resources typically only available to large firms to all firms in order to assist smaller practitioners in moving back and forth between expert and advisory/facilitative roles. We used nationally known and respected CPA firm consultants Bill Reeb and Troy Waugh to lead the development of the technical content of TBA I. You will quickly identify with the facilitators who lead the workshops because of their background working in or with firms just like yours.
